    Shiitake (for logs) (Lentinula edodes)

    Shiitake (for logs) SHIITAKE

    Lentinula edodes

The variety is characterized by intensive and aggressive growth in wood. The length of the incubation period depends on the type of wood and temperature. For soft hardwood, e.g. birch, the incubation period is 3 to 5 months under optimal thermal conditions. On hardwood, e.g. oak or beech, incubation lasts from 7 to even 12 months. After the wood is overgrown with mycelium, it is necessary to soak the logs in water to induce fruiting. It fruits very well in spring and autumn, when there are significant drops in temperature during the night.

The variety produces very good quality fruiting bodies with a dark brown hat (they brighten at higher temperatures). The fruiting body caps are spherical-convex at first and then almost flat when fully mature. Harvest the fruiting bodies when the brim of the hat is still strongly bent downwards. Then the fruiting bodies are the tastiest. The variety is characterized by an intense aroma.

    Shiitake (for blocks) (Lentinula edodes)

    Shiitake (for blocks) SHIITAKE

    Lentinula edodes

The variety is characterized by fruiting bodies with large, round, fleshy and almost flat caps. The color and thickness of the hats depend on the fruiting temperature. At low temperatures, i.e. 14-15°C, it binds a lot of fruiting bodies and they are darker in color and have more fleshy and regular caps. It binds fruiting bodies less at a temperature of 18°C and higher. The period of growth of the sawdust substrate is usually 14-15 days at the temperature of 23-25°C with a dose of mycelium in the amount of 1-2% of the substrate mass.

The period of maturation of the substrate and surface browning is 60-80 days at the temperature of 17-19°C. Air humidity during fruiting should be 90-95%, and the lighting intensity should not be less than 200 lx. The variety has a very impressive first flush. It is intended for fruiting in 2-3 flushes.

    Shiitake (for blocks) SHIITAKE

    Lentinula edodes

The variety produces medium-sized fruiting bodies. The color of the round and convex hats is brown to light brown. It is characterized by very good quality. It abundantly binds the fruiting bodies, which are very uniform in size. The incubation period, along with the maturation of the medium from mycelium inoculation to its completion, is approximately 90 days.

The best quality fruiting bodies are obtained at a temperature of 13-15°C. It is intended for harvesting in 3-4 flushes. It is characterized by a short interval between flushes. It tolerates soaking the substrate well after harvesting.

Working in spawn laboratory | MycoLabs

Laboratory

We have over 140 strains of various species of mushrooms and their varieties in our collection.

All strains are stored in a gene bank (liquid nitrogen), and their maintenance and multiplication are performed in sterile laboratory conditions.

Only the best strains of culture with dynamic growth and hyphae evenly covering the surface of the agar medium are selected for sale.

The microbial media on which the mycelium is produced is freshly produced. Each mother culture, sample of inoculum is checked and tested on several different media of varying composition.

Aleksandra Jarczok | MycoLabs

My name is Aleksandra Jarczok and I am a mycologist. For almost twenty years, my work has been closely related to the production of mycelium of edible mushrooms.

I gained my experience in the family company SPYRA Laboratorium Grzybni, where, together with my father and brother, we mainly dealt with the commercial production of mycelium of mushrooms such as oyster mushroom and shiitake.

I am the owner and founder of MycoLabs. I started the company in order to develop my passion and expand my reaserch and experience with mycelium of exotic and medicinal mushrooms. All this is possible thanks to MycoLabs company.

I am a graduate of the University of Agriculture in Krakow and postgraduate studies at the University of Environmental and Life Sciences in Poznań majoring in production and cultivation of edible and medicinal mushrooms. I have participated in many domestic and foreign training sessions and courses relating to the above mentioned studies and subject matters as well. I am a member of the Polish Mycological Society, The Polish Copernicus Society of Naturalists and The European Association of Speciality Mushroom Industry - ESSMI e.V..

I would like to welcome you to do business with us.
